Sandy Hook Man Caught With Pills He Didn't Have Prescription For, Police Say

A 42-year-old man is facing drug charges after being busted with dozens of illegal prescription pills, police said.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, members of the Milford Police Department stopped Sandy Hook resident Stephen Sabia near the intersection of Dawes Street in Milford, when he committed an equipment violation.

During the stop, police said that Sabia was found to be in possession of marijuana and more than 30 prescription medication pills, which he did not have a prescription for.

Sabia was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. He was released on his own recognizance and scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Jan. 22 to respond to the charges.
